Why We Started Teregen: A Return to Regenerative Roots

It’s hard to imagine a world without pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides—but that world existed, and not so long ago. For millennia, humans cultivated food without synthetic chemicals or pesticides.

Today, however, you'd be hard-pressed to find an organism without traces of agricultural toxins in its blood. These poisons leach into our drinking water, the soil, and ultimately, into us.

The chemical fertilizer revolution—spawned from the war machine after WWII—initially promised a new era of abundance. With targeted applications and increased yields, it seemed like a miracle. But over time, the cracks began to show. Soils degraded. Plant vitality declined. Farmers became trapped in cycles of debt, reliant on synthetic inputs that offered diminishing returns. The very tools meant to sustain agriculture began to undermine it.

That’s why we started Teregen Ag—to help usher in a new era of food production rooted in regeneration, not depletion. Living in California’s Central Valley, I see firsthand the potential for change. I see the promise of farms—and gardens—that can thrive through climate extremes, produce abundant yields, and resist pests and disease—not through chemicals, but through vitality.

My journey led me to the work of Scott Crandall, founder of Agrow Synergy. Scott introduced me to a revolutionary approach to fertilizer—one that helps growers of all scales transition away from conventional methods. His work builds on the insights of two visionary thinkers: Dr. William Albrecht and Dr. Rudolf Steiner.

Dr. Albrecht, a pioneering soil scientist, emphasized the importance of soil mineralization and the Base Cation Saturation Ratio—a more holistic approach than the narrow focus on NPK. Dr. Steiner, the father of biodynamic agriculture, introduced practices like fermented preparations, foliar feeding, and crop timing. Scott took these ideas further, blending biodynamic principles with mineralized compost and castings to create fertilizers that nourish both soil and plant.

The result is Agrow Synergy—a line of regenerative fertilizers that restore soil health and unlock the full potential of plants. These products have shown astonishing results in commercial agriculture—but their real magic is how they empower everyday gardeners.

Whether you’re growing tomatoes on a balcony, herbs in a kitchen window, or a full backyard garden, Agrow Synergy’s formulas help you grow nutrient-dense, flavorful food—without synthetic chemicals. This is about more than yield. It’s about taste, vitality, and health. It’s about reconnecting with the land, even if that land is a few square feet of soil behind your house.

Modern food has become significantly less nutrient-dense, and many believe this decline has contributed to rising public health issues. But when you enrich your soil with life—not just chemical inputs—you grow food that nourishes your body and soul. Through Teregen Ag, we're bringing these innovations directly to gardeners and homesteaders who are ready for a better way to grow.

This isn’t just about food production. It’s about healing the land and writing a new chapter in our contemporary ethnobotanical story. It’s about remembering that agriculture—at any scale—can be a force for life, not just production.

The knowledge is here. The tools are here. And the time for change is now. Join us.
